Just a stone’s throw from the beautiful Norfolk Broads and within strolling distance of the local pubs, shops and cafes, it is the perfect base from which to explore the area.

Whatever your pleasure – be it walking, cycling, fishing or boating, we are confident we can offer you a relaxing rural retreat for both short breaks and longer holidays.

As many of you already know, Mill House Bungalow is very much a family‑run labour of love. Today we’re taking a moment to celebrate Mother’s Day and all the wonderful mums who stay with us throughout the year.

A special mention goes to my own mum — always ready to step in, solve a problem, and create the most thoughtful welcome baskets. She’s our behind‑the‑scenes quality controller and the heart of so much that makes Mill House feel like home.

We marked the day with a family Mother’s Day dinner, giving the mums in the house a well‑earned break from the kitchen and doing our best to wait on them (at least as much as they’ll let us!).

Who doesn’t love a walk in the Norfolk Broads?! This is a 3.5 mile circular walk just outside Potter Heigham and running alongside the Norfolk Wildlife Trust Hickling Broad. It’s so peaceful, even if it was a bit muddy at this time of year (only at the end through the woods). One of the best things about winter at Mill House Bungalow? The cute neighbours at Horsey Gap! 🦭

Our latest guests were professional photographers and they caught some cracking shots of the seal colony (have a peek 👉 Caron Swinscoe Photography).

It’s such a special sight — pups snoozing on the beach, mums keeping watch, and all that fresh sea air. Perfect for a winter wander, whether you’re into photography or just fancy a dose of nature.
